Natural Reflection
Natural Reflection is an experimental series that demonstrates the many layers of beauty we find in nature, and how they can be manipulated. Briana uses flowers and alters their appearance using lighting, contrast, and mirrors.
Taking inspiration from Man Ray, she creates solarization digitally. This effect makes a once normal object look completely different. Framing and positioning also causes new shapes to take form.
Briana enjoys creating new images from existing objects because she believes that interesting photography only requires a unique perspective and creative intuition. She wants to show that still-life photography can be more than what meets the eye.

About Briana
Briana Nazario, currently living in the Bronx, NY, is a fine art photographer who creates thought-provoking imagery using the household or found objects. Briana’s interest in photography started in high school when she decided to take an AP art course. She was immediately drawn to photography, and started to shoot people and landscapes. When she took a summer college course in Albany, that solidified her interest and she was determined to pursue photography as a career.
Briana is currently a BFA student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, set to graduate in 2024. Her work was exhibited at the Museum at FIT and will be exhibited in Soho Photo Gallery in December 2022. She is a 2022 BKC The Bridge participant, a 5-month professional development intensive for emerging young photographers. The Bridge culminates in a final group exhibition, in which Briana will be exhibiting her “Natural Reflection” series.
She wants to expand and explore the definition of still-life photography in her work, and continues to experiment with objects and formats. Her goal is to challenge people’s perception and think twice about her images.
