Sean Chee
An Open Heart
This series focuses on my path of healing in the midst of the pandemic with my own family of Chinese descent. Throughout the past several weeks in this project, I implored myself to have not an open mind as I usually do to life, but instead to have an open heart. Through this I found a proper means to explore my journey as a son, a brother, and my past self.

About Sean
I am a self-taught, born and bred Queens, New York City photographer who is passionate about people. Being based there my entire life, much of the diversity of the Queens county bleeds into my work. It centers around the dialogue that happens between me and my subjects, whether that be family, culture, dreams, and more.
My additional interests in marketing, traveling, and dancing hip-hop have propelled me in experimenting with different perspectives when shooting. While mainly focusing on portraitures, I also do shoot food and events especially when it comes to the community. I give back and shoot occasionally for organizations such as Asian Creative Network, East Side Stories, and Off Their Plate.
Presented by BKC & ASMP NY, The Bridge is a groundbreaking 16-week mentorship program for 18-26 year old emerging photographers and creative artists. To learn more about The Bridge, CLICK HERE.
