Join us for our friendly Meet ‘n Greet with Birgit Buchart of Lomography at BKC on Saturday,  March 7th from 2pm – 4pm.  We’ll use this time to look through some of Birgit’s favorite images she’s made using Lomo’s beautiful film stock and learn about the history of Lomography. We’ll also save some time for YOU to check out some of the latest films, cameras and lenses Lomography has released to date.

Our next Photo Café talk with Seeing Collective invites Russell Frederick (visual activist and editor, Kamoinge VP), Iliana Cepero (professor of art history and visual studies at The New School) and Marko Jokic (photography educator, and co-founder of Back to the Lab) to discuss the role and value of education, teachers, students and resources in today’s creative ecosystems.

Our next Photo Café talk with Seeing Collective is coming up on Friday, May 24th (7pm – 9pm) at BKC on the topic of Fairness and Visibility. How can we encourage diversity and create equality within the photography industry? What are some ways to give underrepresented people a platform to share their stories and voice? These are just a couple questions that come to mind when thinking about fairness and visibility across the industry and we hope to broach this topic in our next discussion.

This month, we're bringing a little extra cheer to the neighborhood, by offering FREE Holiday Portraits for Bushwick families, friends and for those who serve our awesome Brooklyn community.
Each family will receive a free 4x6 print and a link to download their photo digitally. It's the Holidays and being with fam is what it's all about.  Savor this moment and take a photo of yourselves together this season.  It's our way of giving back to the community and spreading joy from our new home base.

It's the New Year so let's have a Get Together at BKC!  Justin will be shooting more of his Psychedelic Polaroids with whatever limited supply of film he has left, so mark your calendars and tell your friends!
