Mind Blown: Optical Distortions and Experimental Lenses for Photography

Part of our ongoing collaboration with UrbanGlass studio in Downtown Brooklyn, Justin is teaming up with glass artist and instructor Amy Lemaire for this hands-on workshop creating our own, one-of-a-kind lenses.  Using the flameworking studio, we'll build weird and wonderfully distorting lenses for DSLR cameras, iPhones, and even projectors.  This is a truly inspiring two-session class designed to stretch your imagination of what photography is all about.

Photo Bomb: From Image to Object

This 7 session workshop is split into two parts.  The first part will meet at BKC on two consecutive Sunday evenings to create unique photographic works which will then be printed on decals by Minnesota artists Baur & Boldon and brought to UrbanGlass studios in downtown Brooklyn.  The second part will be a weeklong intensive class to form and shape one-of-a-kind glass art objects.

Intro to Shooting Glass: Getting The Most From Your iPhone Camera

This special-edition class is a collaboration with Brooklyn-based UrbanGlass studios.  Through an overview of creative lighting techniques, strategic studio setups and enhanced smartphone operation, we’ll help you improve your skills so you can be more confident photographing your own glass works and update your portfolio with professional-looking images.   The goal by class end is to create a small “lookbook” of some of your favorite pieces which can be used to promote your work via online selling sites or social media.
